Position title Field Service Engineer Location Kazakhstan Business overview: Rolls-Royce Energy is a world-class organization, providing innovative power solutions to our customers across the world. Fundamental to our success is our Customer Service Business (CSB), which is ideally placed to support its customers by striving to increase their efficiency in providing maintenance of their equipment. Job specification The role of the Field Service Engineer (FSE) is to provide technical field service, as required, for our Long Term Service Agreement (LTSA), Installation & Commissioning (I&C) and Engineered Solutions (ESoL) businesses as well as other traditional ad-hoc customers. The role requires responding to customer call outs on an ad-hoc or planned basis to conduct installation, commissioning, maintenance, repairs and modifications activities and carry out defect investigations, resolve operational problems and support the Technical Manager to develop and improve relevant techniques You will work with the regional office in Almaty while providing technical field services and support to customer equipment based in Kazakhstan. You will be the customer interface for CSB and provide both technical support and field service roles in order to maximize the availability of the customer’s equipment. In addition, you will take responsibility for ensuring compliance with the customer’s and Rolls-Royce’s Health, Safety & Environmental policies and procedures. You may be required to provide technical support outside normal working hours and will need the ability to work offshore, often at short notice, in response to unscheduled breakdown events, in accordance with customer expectations. Person specification You reside in Kazakhstan and likely to have worked in either Mechanical or Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls disciplines and/or have a working knowledge of gas turbine driven engine packages. Ideally, you will also have knowledge of Rolls-Royce products and applications and some experience of our industrial equipment. You will interpret piping and installation drawings, general engineering drawings and controls schematics, and have the ability to produce technical reports, based on work conducted and recommendations required to resolve customer issues, and/or improve system reliability and availability. English written and verbal communication skills are required, and you will be able to interact at all levels, demonstrate initiative, be a flexible self-starter, working with the minimum direction and have the ability to work with a wide range of people and be a team player. You will be required to work within the company’s operating procedures to ensure that the highest quality work standards are maintained. Specific Qualifications: 1. Relevant University degree within an engineering discipline. 2. Suitably qualified in a mechanical or controls discipline and ideally have hands-on experience with gas turbine driven packages. (not applicable for young specialists) 3. Recognized HS&E training is desirable. 4. PC and IT Literate. 5. Fluent in written and spoken English and Russian.
